Our tour program is always tailor-made to your interests and availability. Bangalore
Bangalore General / Mixed Culture Tour

SAMPLE PROGRAM (approx. 9 hours)

·         9 am meet at a central point in the city (somewhere around Mahatma Gandhi Road)
·         915 am arrive at the Snake temple for breakfast: a nose dive into local culture
·         Walk around the snake temple area – see the Sari weavers
·         Make it for Coffee at Bangalore’s oldest local café or at a colonial cafe
·         Visit KR Market where farmers display their freshest flowers, fruit and vegetables to sell to retailers, or wholesale buyers
·         Visit a project in a slum that epicycles waste into contemporary products (accessories), and provides empowerment to its women, mostly young mothers from very poor households, who now have bettered their circumstances with their hard work and dedication to this project. 
·         Visit a Kali Temple and a Hindu Cemetery surrounding it

·         Visit Bangalore’s oldest church and the scrap market behind it
·         Visit Washerman’s Valley, where the traditional hand-washed laundry industry has flourished since 1780

Bangalore - Mysore Day Trip

BANGALORE – MYSORE DAY TRIP

Sample Program

  • ·         6:00 am – leave for Mysore
  • ·         7:30 am – Traditional South Indian/Karnataka cuisine breakfast at the popular “Kamat Lokaruchi” restaurant
  • ·         Continue on Mysore road – drive through toy town Channapatna where traditional Indian toys are made; through Mandya – where sugarcane fields feed the sugar industry.
  • ·         Visit a traditional Indian Village and see people’s lifestyles.
  • ·         “Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary” on the bank of the river Kaveri. Take a boat tour and see marsh crocodiles, otters and Indian water birds.
  • ·         12:00 pm – Tour historic town of “Shrirangapattana”, 20 Km outside Mysore. The entire town is enclosed by the river Kaveri to form an island. Visit the revered “Sri Ranganthaswamy” temple built in the 9th. century and a major pilgrimage site in South India along with other historical monuments
  • ·         Picnic lunch at a little resort by the river
  • ·         3:30 pm – Depart for Jaganmpohan Palace: Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery.
  • ·         4:30 pm – visit the main Mysore Palace with a special visit to parts that are not open to general public.
  • ·         Visit the famous Mysore Bangle market place
  • ·         6 p.m. – Coffee at the “Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel”. Mysore’s second largest palace was built by the Maharaja of Mysore in 1931  for the exclusive stay of the Viceroy of India. It is built on the lines of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. It was converted into a heritage hotel in 1974.
  • ·         6:45 pm: Drive up Chamundi hill for a twilight view of the city. Visit the temple surroundings.
  • ·         7:30 pm – Start back to Bangalore
  • ·         8:30 pm – refreshment break
  • ·         10:30 pm – arrive in Bangalore in time for a late dinner.

Pondicherry
    Pondicherry is easiest read by road from Chennai (approx. 2 hour drive). It can also be reached from Bangalore by road (6 hour drive) but you need to have a stomach for long drives on the highway in India.  Items that can be included in a day trip (Approx 9 hours):
  • A visit to Matrimandir, the architectural wonder meditation centre at the heart of Auroville, followed by coffee at the solar cafe
  • A visit to the handicraft gallery at Auroville
  • A drive through the French Quarters
  • Visit to the Our Lady, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and the museum
  • A walk down the beach and promenade
  • A visit to the paper making unit
  • A visit to the meditation centre

Please note: if you are interested in Auroville, it is important to plan about a month in advance. In spite of planning, sometimes it does not work out to visit the Matrimandir if it is a rainy or cloudy day. So be prepared for last minute changes in program. Either way, we will keep you entertained!

Delhi
Delhi Half Day Tour (4 hours)
  • Start the day by visiting the India Gate, President’s House and Parliament House: Power hub of Delhi constructed by the British in early 1900s
  • A round of the Sikh temple a Sikh temple (Gurudwara), learn the history behind the temple and a little about Sikhs, the warrior class. Also a peek into the community kitchen to see how the food is prepared
  • Lunch
  • Visit an ancient 14th century stepwell nestled amongst high-rise buildings
  • Take a peek into a traditional Laundrymat using manual washing methods

Delhi Full Day Tour (7 hours)

  • A stop outside the enigmatic Red Fort of the 17th century
  • Discover the streets of Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi) on a rickshaw and by foot – bazaars, old haveli’s, quaint structures…
  • Explore a quiet lane (an oasis) in the middle of the hustle bustle which also has a Jain temple

Goa General / Mixed Culture Tour: Items that can be included in a day tour (Approx 9 hours)

  • A Goan village depiction, set up in the form of a local museum, at Lautolim
  • A typical goan shack where the hippies of today hang out and relax on a beach, and are often seen practising

  • Demonstration of marble inlay work , a craft work also known as pietredure, is a 350-year-old tradition in the land of the Taj Mahal introduced by the Mughals and is the same art that has been used on the walls of Taj Mahal

  • Enjoy a short visit to a local village – interact with the people, enjoy a cup of tea at one of their homes

Jaipur

Jaipur Full Day Tour (7 hours)

  • Start the day with a visit to Amber Fort which stood the test of time and guarded itself from invasions, one of the most imposing forts of India. The fort entrance is reached by walking up the hill, going in car or taking a lurching elephant ride
  • Get a glimpse of the beautifully designed Hawa Mahal
  • A look at the appropriately located Jal Mahal (water palace)
  • Get fascinated by the impressive Observatory which boasts of housing the largest Sun Dial of the world
  • A walk to the various factories where the guests can see the art of making jewellery, weaving carpets and tye & dye work
  • Take a rickshaw ride through the bazaars of Jaipur and enjoy some local street food

Jodhpur

Jodhpur Full Day Tour (6 hours)

  • Start the day with a visit to Mehrangarh Fort. Situated 400 feet above the city on a rocky hill called the mountain of birds, the fort encompasses temples, palaces and courtyards. The Dark Knight Rises was partially shot around this fort
  • Visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum
  • Take a stroll around Jaswant tada, a white marble memorial, built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. Along with the history of Jodhpur, the lake, the gazebos, the gardens, the picture collections all add to this memorable experience
  • Enjoy the Brahmin Walk which includes blue houses, water reservoirs, step well, temples, tea and snacks at a Brahmin’s house

Jodhpur Village Safari (5 hours)

  • A day spent in a Jodhpur Village which is about a 45min drive from Jodhpur
  • Its an interesting tour which covers a mix of everything from witnessing the deer and the black buck to experiencing the opium ceremony
  • A visit to the potter’s home to see him work on his wheel and also see freshly made pots after they have been burnt
  • See the weavers make a beautiful rug out of sheep or camel hair dyed and weaved into beautiful patterns
  • Get a glimpse of the lives of a typical Rajasthani village and family

Udaipur

Udaipur Full Day Tour (7 hours)

  • Start the morning with a walk through the old street and discover the hidden gems of this old city, meet the locals & witness the traditions. See the famous ghats, followed by a visit to a Hindu temple and City Palace
  • Get fascinated by the Crystal Gallery which houses the single largest private collection of crystal anywhere in the world
  • A round of the Saheliyon ki Bari, a charming, ornamental garden with marble elephants & lotus pools, also known as the Garden of Maidens is a tranquil oasis
  • A visit to the School of Miniature art, meet the artisans and discover some beautiful pieces of art
  • Enjoy an evening boat ride in Lake Pichola, the historic 14th century lake made by a local banjara (gypsy) that was extended in the 16th century by Rana Udai Singh II to establish Udaipur, the city of lakes.
  • Explore Jag Mandir during the boat ride, it is a palace built on an island in Lake Pichola. It is also called the “Lake Garden Palace”. The royal family used the palace as a summer resort and pleasure palace for holding parties.
